LibDems call on Blair to 'Axe The Tax'

Deputy Leader of Southwark Council, Councillor Caroline Pidgeon said, "Council Tax is an unfair tax that is hurting many people across Southwark. We should axe the tax and replace it with a system based on ability to pay."
Thousands of people have already signed a national petition calling for the tax to go. Lib Dem Leader Charles Kennedy MP has pledged that a Liberal Democrat Government would abolish the tax completely.
Caroline Pidgeon continued, "We want to bring maximum pressure on Tony Blair to act now. That's why we are collecting a nationwide petition demanding action. I would urge local people to help our campaign by signing the national petition online at www.axethetax.org.uk"
