Camberwell and Peckham parliamentary candidate Richard Porter has today launched a campaign to improve the 343 bus service which runs through Peckham.
Commenting on the launch Richard said "I have received loads of complaints from local residents about the appalling state of the 343 bus service. Passengers who try to catch the bus on Southampton Way, Wells Way, Thurlow Street and Albany Road are particularly badly affected. The bus fails to run to a timetable during the rush hour and more often that not, passengers are unable to get on the bus when it does arrive, as it is already full of passengers. Sometimes people can be waiting up to an hour to get on a bus in the morning".
"I've also had complaints about the behaviour of the drivers, many of whom drive in a dangerous manner with little regard for the safety of passengers".
"I would urge anyone who has had negative experiences with this bus service to contact me and I will take this up with the London Mayor who is responsible for London's bus services".
