Commenting on the latest Key Stage 3 results from DfES, which show that Geoffrey Chaucer is one of the most improving schools, Cllr Caroline Pidgeon, Liberal Democrat Executive Member for Education, said:
"I am delighted that Geoffrey Chaucer is already proving it has the will to really turn things around. There is still a lot of work to do and we will continue to work very closely with everyone at the school to make sure it continues to improve."
On Southwark's KS3 results, Cllr Pidgeon added:
"The fact that Southwark's KS3 results are improving faster than the national average is a tribute to the incredibly hard work of our teachers and pupils, as well as the parents and governors who go the extra mile."
"But many of Southwark's schools are starting from well behind so we must keep this positive momentum going to bring all of our schools up to a high standard."
