Local Lib Dems hand in Post Office petition

Lib Dem GLA candidate for Lambeth and Southwark, Cllr Caroline Pidgeon joined Simon Hughes MP and local councillors and campaigners to hand in a petition signed by hundreds of people at the Post Office Ltd's HQ against the planned closures of local branches in the two boroughs.
Commenting, Caroline said:
"The support from local residents for our local post offices has been overwhelming and shows the central role that these branches play in the lives of people in both Lambeth and Southwark.
"The Post Office and government ministers need to recognise just how hard a blow would be dealt to local people, especially older residents, if these branches close. Local people have spoken - the Post Office and the government need to listen."
