Tributes to Councillor Anne Yates

Councillor Nick Stanton, Lib Dem leader of Southwark Council:
"Anne was an enormously well-liked councillor. She worked tirelessly for the people of Rotherhithe, many of whom saw her as a friend first, and a councillor second.
"As a local mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she gave a lifetime of service for the area where she chose to raise her family, first as a tenants' representative, and as a local councillor since 1998.
"She will be mourned by the whole Southwark family - her constituents, council staff and councillors of all parties. She will be sadly missed."
Rotherhithe Lib Dem councillor Columba Blango:
"Anne was more than just a councillor. Over a decade, she became a friend to the hundreds of people who sought her help.
"She was an asset to her constituents, a true local champion who always put the interests of Rotherhithe first."
Rotherhithe Lib Dem councillor Jeff Hook:
"Since I became a councillor in 2000, I have come to value Anne as a friend and a hard-working colleague who was dedicated to serving local people.
"I know that our constituents - to whom she was always "Anne" and never "Councillor" - will miss her greatly."
