East Walworth Lib Dems welcome investment in Surrey Square schools

Children at Surrey Square infant and junior schools got a welcome boost this week as work commenced on a new building to provide a new school hall and kitchen facilities underneath a new green roof playground. Funding from the project comes from the Aylesbury NDC, the schools and Southwark Council. Construction is due to finish in April next year.
Lib Dem councillor for East Walworth, Cllr Jane Salmon said:
"This innovative building allows expansion of the school without the loss of outside space for children to play.
"The schools and their hard-working staff provide a fantastic education for local children and with this new facility, which doubles up as both a dining hall and space for sport and other indoor activities, their educational experience can only get even better."
