Following a successful campaign jointly led by Southwark Lib Dem MP, Simon Hughes, there are now 46 more police officers on the streets of Southwark.

Southwark Council's Executive Member for Community Safety, Councillor Richard Porter said:

"We all know crime and anti-social behaviour are frightening. The new Liberal Democrat council and Simon Hughes MP are determined to do all we can with the police and other agencies to make Southwark safer. The steps we are taking are already showing results, but there is a lot to do to reduce fear of crime."
