Lib Dems Respond to London Being Excluded from Government Deprivation Fund

Cllr Rachel Bentley, Southwark Liberal Democrat Deputy Group Leader and Parliamentary Spokesperson, has responded to the news that the Governments £1.5bn “plan for neighbourhoods”, aimed at tackling deprivation, will exclude London:
“It's disappointing that Labour, like the Tories before, are failing to support London's communities. In Southwark, one in three live in communities in the top fifth most deprived areas in the country, but this government is choosing to ignore them. It's clear that nothing has changed with this new government. London’s deep inequality is a national shame and we need urgent action to ensure that those left behind in our communities get the support they need"
