Southwark Lib Dems congratulate Rob Blackie on selection as Lib Dem London Mayoral candidate

Responding to the announcement, Southwark Liberal Democrat leader Cllr Victor Chamberlain said:

“Everyone in the Southwark Liberal Democrats extends their warmest congratulations to Rob Blackie on his selection as the party’s candidate for the London Mayoral election. We are delighted to be working with a candidate who shares our priorities of police reform, tackling the climate emergency and making sure London is inclusive for everyone.

Sadiq Khan has failed to address the housing crisis, failed to tackle crime and has threatened to cut the bus routes our borough needs so badly. Southwark needs a mayor who will fix our housing crisis and build genuinely affordable homes, will deliver sustainable transport like the Bakerloo line extension and Rotherhithe Bridge, and will get a grip on residents genuine concerns about crime and anti-social behaviour.”
