Southwark Liberal Democrats Welcome Bike Hire Extension Win

The Southwark Liberal Democrats welcomed a bike hire extension campaign win on news of more docking stations on Friday.

TfL said that new docking stations would open in Southwark later this year, which marks a success for the Liberal Democrats following years of campaigning.

Commenting, Cllr Victor Chamberlain, Southwark Liberal Democrat Group Leader said:

“This is a massive success for the Southwark Liberal Democrats who have campaigned to extend bike hire across the whole of Southwark for years. In a climate emergency, it is vital we make it easier to use greener transport. It is great news that we will finally be getting new docking stations in our borough after the snail pace delivery by the Mayor and Southwark Labour. Southwark Liberal Democrats will continue to keep up our campaign for sustainable transport and ensure the borough benefits from the cycle hire scheme.”
